Auckland/Coromandel/Paeroa/Auckland
From Auckland you have a couple of options to get to Thames, one direct the other more scenic. From Thames it’s a twisty ride up the coast to Coromandel town where there’s plenty to see and do. The road north of Coromandel is more suited to off road/lighter motorcycles and not recommended for heavy touring bikes. You then follow the east coast down through seaside towns such as Whangamata and Tairua before returning to Auckland. To extend the trip you could visit Tauranga/Mt Maunganui and come home via Paeroa.
